My (Almost) Favorite Things

So, it’s that time of year again.

You know, when you try to find the right gift for everyone on your list.

(Or, if you’re like me, you try to put together a wish list on Amazon to help Superman and the Oompah Loompah’s out.)  With that in mind, let me share a couple of ideas – some of my favorite books this year.  It’s totally okay to forward this to your husband, you know, “accidentally”… or leave it on your screen for when he walks by… 😉

Book #1

Can I just take a minute to dwell on the life changing nature of Ann Voskamp’s One Thousand Gifts?

I really, really love this book.  The gratitude journaling has changed me forever!  A perfect gift this Christmas would be a copy of the book and a beautiful journal and pen set.

Book #2

I know, I’ve already mentioned how much I wished that I had a copy of Hoodwinked: 10 Myths Moms Believe (And Why We All Need To Knock It Off) when I became a mother 5 years ago.  It’s a breath of fresh air and encouragement, and it’s convicting (but in the very kindest of ways).

This would go so well with some chocolate and a cute coffee mug!

Book #3

This book.  It brought me to tears of both sadness and happiness (and this from the girl who really hates to cry.)  I won’t spoil it for you, but the story compelled me from the beginning and carried me through all the way to the wonderful end.  I’ve loved every book by this talented author.  Give Ginny Yttrup a try…I hope you like her as much as I do!

A bubble bath and yummy candle would be the perfect pairing with this wonderful novel!

And, if you haven’t tried Amazon Prime (30 days for free, y’all!), check it out and get all your presents sent to you with free 2 day shipping.  It doesn’t get better than that!

Okay, so those were my ALMOST favorite books of 2015…next week I’ll tell you about my #1 favorite and how it’s changing me as we speak!  Have a beautiful weekend!

Great book recommendations are my favorite, Kelly! I already read the first two – and loved them – so I’m taking your word for it and adding the third to my reading list. And now you really have me wondering what your absolute favorite for the year is. :)
